Metal bed frames: load tested to 300kg

Our mesh-base contract metal bed frames are made in the UK by Metal Beds Ltd and SGS tested to EN 1725:2023 (bed safety, strength and durability) at non-domestic test levels. They are load tested to a 300kg working load limit (330kg proof load). The mesh base needs no slats. These are strength and safety tests, not fire tests: for hotels, care homes, HMOs and student accommodation, pair a frame with a CRIB5 contract mattress. Copies of the test documents are available on request.

Reinforced divan bases: 190kg (30 stone) combined

Our reinforced divan bases add extra slats to the standard divan construction for a firmer, more durable platform, and one is CRIB5 fire-certified for contract use. The manufacturer rates them to a maximum user weight of 190kg (30 stone) combined. That is the total for everyone on the bed, and it is the same rating as the standard divan: the reinforcement adds durability, not extra weight capacity. They are made to order in Britain.
