Why a Storage Coffee Table?

A coffee table is the most-used surface in most living rooms and the first place clutter accumulates. Storage built into the base absorbs the throws, magazines, chargers and remotes that would otherwise sit on top, which keeps the surface usable. In a small living room with no other storage furniture, it is often the single most practical piece you can add.

Where is the storage?

Beneath the table top, within the woven body of the table. It is sized for throws, magazines, remotes and games rather than for bulky items.

Can it be used outdoors?

Not permanently. Kubu rattan is designed for indoor use. A covered conservatory or garden room is suitable; an exposed patio is not.

Why does the weave vary?

Each table is woven by hand, so pattern and tone differ marginally between pieces. This is inherent to handmade rattan and is the mark of a genuine woven item rather than a moulded synthetic one.

How do I clean it?

Dust with a soft brush and wipe with a barely damp cloth. Do not soak the weave, and keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight to avoid fading.

Is it heavy?

No. Rattan is light relative to its size, so the table is easy to move for cleaning or rearranging — an advantage over a solid timber or stone coffee table.

How long does delivery take?

Free UK mainland delivery, typically within 3 working days. We do not currently deliver to the Scottish Highlands and islands, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Isle of Wight, the Channel Islands or the Isles of Scilly.

About Kubu Rattan

Kubu rattan is soaked in a natural clay bath before weaving, producing a softer, greyer tone than raw rattan and making the fibres more workable. It is an indoor material — a conservatory or garden room is fine, but sustained damp or uncovered outdoor use will shorten its life.
