The HARLEY is a sturdy, safety-tested black metal bunk bed that transforms a single bedroom into a room that sleeps two. The powder-coated black steel frame is built to take the rigours of daily use by children and teenagers — no flexing, no creaking, no compromises on safety. UK-manufactured by Metal Beds Ltd to British safety standards.

Why a Metal Bunk Bed?
Metal bunk beds are the most durable choice for children’s rooms. The HARLEY’s black powder-coat is tested to BS EN 747 — covering structural integrity, guard rail height, ladder angle, and entrapment gap dimensions. Unlike wooden bunks, a metal frame will not warp, split, or develop creaks from humidity changes. The full-length upper guard rail protects both open sides. Upper bunk recommended for children aged 6 and over.
How long does delivery take? Free UK mainland delivery direct to your door, typically within 3 working days.
Does it require assembly? Yes — tools and full instructions are included. Most households complete assembly in 1–2 hours.
What sizes are available? Single (3'0") only — each bunk fits a standard UK single mattress (90×190cm), sold separately.
What mattress depth is recommended? Maximum 16cm mattress depth is recommended to maintain the required guard rail height above the sleeping surface, in line with BS EN 747.
How does a metal bunk bed compare to a wooden bunk bed? Metal bunks are lighter, more resistant to warping and cracking, and easier to move if you redecorate. Wooden bunks offer a warmer aesthetic but are heavier and may develop creaks over time. Both can be equally safe when tested to BS EN 747.
