PVC covers provide a harder, fully impermeable waterproof barrier compared to Neptune non-woven alternatives — the correct specification for acute hospital wards, mental health units, and secure accommodation where rigorous clinical disinfection protocols are applied after every occupancy.

How do I care for the PVC cover? Wipe the PVC cover with clinical-grade disinfectant between occupancies. The surface is fully impermeable and compatible with standard hospital disinfection protocols. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sharp implements on the cover surface.

How does PVC compare to Neptune waterproofing? PVC provides a harder, fully impermeable waterproof barrier appropriate for clinical settings where rapid disinfection is required after every use. Neptune is softer and more breathable, preferred where residents sleep directly on the mattress without clinical disinfection requirements. Choose PVC for acute care and high-risk settings; choose Neptune for general care home and hotel use.
