About this bed
The SKID is a fold-flat MDF bed frame designed for spaces where a permanent bed frame is impractical — it folds down for storage when not in use, taking up a fraction of the floor space of a conventional frame. Ideal for studio flats, spare rooms, home offices that double as guest rooms, and any bedroom where daytime floor space matters. Available in Single, Small Double, and Double sizes with a mesh base. Delivered free to UK mainland addresses.
Key features
- Fold-flat design — folds away for storage when not in use
- MDF construction — solid, stable surface; no wobble or flex when in use
- Mesh base — open mesh support for mattress; better airflow than solid board
- Three sizes — Single (3'0"), Small Double (4'0"), Double (4'6")
- UK-made by Wholesale Beds
- Free UK mainland delivery included

Questions
How does the fold-flat design work?
The bed frame folds at a central pivot point, allowing it to be collapsed to a flat profile for storage against a wall or in a wardrobe. It deploys and locks open for use in seconds without tools.
What is MDF?
MDF (Medium-Density Fibreboard) is a dense, smooth engineered wood product. It is more consistent and warp-resistant than solid wood at a lower cost, making it a practical and durable choice for furniture components.
Is the mesh base compatible with a memory foam mattress?
Yes — the mesh base is compatible with all standard mattress types including pocket sprung, memory foam, and hybrid mattresses.
Is Free UK mainland delivery included?
Yes — free UK mainland delivery on all Wholesale Beds products through Onlineand.direct.
