Beds

Onlineand.direct stocks the full range of UK bed frame types — metal beds, wooden beds, ottoman storage beds, divan bases, bunk beds, and kids beds — in every standard UK size from small single to super king. Every bed is sourced directly from UK suppliers and delivered free to your home by specialist carrier, anywhere on the UK mainland: in 3 working days for stocked bed frames, and in 2–3 weeks from order to delivery for made-to-order divan bases.

How to choose the right bed frame

The right bed frame depends on four things: size, storage, style, and base type. For size, UK standard double is 135x190cm, king is 150x200cm, and super king is 180x200cm — always make sure your mattress and frame match. For storage, ottoman beds offer the largest hidden capacity via a gas-lift mechanism under the mattress; divan bases provide drawer storage at the side or foot. Metal and wooden frames without storage are typically lower in price. For style, metal suits contemporary and minimalist bedrooms; wooden frames work well in traditional and Scandinavian-influenced interiors. For base type, mesh and slatted bases suit most modern mattresses — always check your mattress warranty before ordering a solid platform base.

Contract and commercial beds

Our Contract range metal bed frames are SGS tested to EN 1725:2023 for strength and safety at non-domestic levels, and are widely used in hotels, HMOs, student accommodation, and care homes across the UK. For fire safety, CRIB5 (BS 7177 Medium Hazard) certified divan bases and mattresses are available where your fire risk assessment, local authority or insurer calls for them — our CRIB5 contract beds buying guide explains which certification you need.
